ELPA21 English Learner Educator Toolkit: Newcomer Supplement Reminder

In 2022-23, ELPA21 released a supplement to its ELPA21 English Learner Educator Toolkit, focusing on “Newcomer” students with EL status. While some elements of this supplement can be used independently, it is designed to work best in tandem with the base EL Toolkit (released in 2021-22). The Newcomer supplement is free to Oregon educators during the 2022-23 school year, after which time it will be available for purchase in the NABE web store, alongside other ELPA21 products, such the base ELPA21 EL Toolkit and the English Learners Classroom Poster. Practitioners can download the free ELPA21 English Learner Educator Toolkit: Newcomer Supplement by entering their information in this form. Note that if you already used this form in 2022-23, you will not receive a new email. Instead, search your email archives for a message with the subject line “ELPA21 EL Educator Toolkit: Newcomer Supplement – Access.”

Please contact Ben Wolcott, ELPA Specialist, with questions about ELPA testing.

Please contact Kim Miller, Title III Specialist, with questions about English language proficiency instruction and Title III requirements.

The ELPA Screener Administration Manual has been updated to incorporate the new Proficient profile. The ELPA Screener Informational Webinar will also be updated to align with the Kindergarten screening updates.
