Results from the 2013 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) show long term improvement in math and reading for Oregon students, but short term progress only in reading. Representative samples of Oregon 4th and 8th graders participated in NAEP 2013. Average scores in math at both grades and in reading at 4th grade have risen since the 1990s. However, there were no statistically significant gains between 2011 and 2013 in math at either grade or in reading at grade 4.
