Tips, Guidance and Considerations for SY 2020-21
ODE USDA Food Distribution Program
This programs' mission is to strengthen the Nation's nutrition safety net by providing food and nutrition assistance to school children and families; and support American agriculture by distributing high quality, 100% American-grown USDA Foods.
Public and Private schools, Residential Child Care Institutions, and other agencies of the National School Lunch Program, Summer Food Service Program, and Child and Adult Care Food Program are eligible to receive USDA Foods. USDA allocates funds (entitlement) to the State Agency which is then allocated to each Agency based on their total lunches served in the previous school year. Recipient Agencies then use these funds to spend on USDA Foods through one or any combinations of the available options below. USDA Foods are catered towards agency menu needs and are often a greater value than the agency could procure on their own.
SY 2020-21 Entitlement Rates-
NSLP: $.37 per lunch
CACFP: $.2450 per meal (or can receive cash in lieu of USDA Foods)
SFSP: $.015 per meal
