Remote TWIST Training

Remote TWIST Training is an introduction to our current data system, TWIST. It is intended to assist new users learn to navigate the system and understand how it relates to their work in a WIC clinic. Class size is limited to 8 people. Registration closes 2 weeks before the class start date to allow time for the pre-requisites to be met.

To register for this training we ask learners:

  • Have an active P-number - if staff have a P-number but are new to WIC, the P-number must be configured for WIC before registering. 
  • Have Citrix and Familynet Practice (the TWIST practice site) installed on their computer
  • Shadow someone using TWIST in their role for 1-2 weeks.

Please note: To ensure a good experience for everyone, staff who register who do not have the above requirements will be asked to reschedule.

Here are some tips for a successful experience:
  • Complete the first lesson right away. This activity is how to know where to send materials.
  • Add it to your calendar:
    • Download the calendar appointment from the course screen in Workday. The Zoom link is included.
    • Save the Zoom link and password from Lesson 3.
  • Test your equipment before class.
  • We recommend access to two screens for the class:
    • Screen 1: TWIST training database
    • Screen 2: Zoom meeting

Activities in the Remote TWIST Training Workbook include:

  • Log into TWIST in the Familynet application through Citrix
  • Navigate the basic screens used in TWIST
  • Follow the steps to create appointments for participants
  • Find a participant in the TWIST database
  • Follow the steps to assign a food package
  • Follow the steps to enroll a participant (pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding mothers; infants and children)
  • Follow the steps to issue an eWIC card
  • Enter or update relevant demographic data for a participant
