Welcome to the CACFP Training Resource Page!

Below is a list of Oregon Department of Education, Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) trainings available for you to train staff 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This training page includes trainings for both center based sponsors as well as Family Day Care Home Sponsors.

Upcoming Trainings

CACFP Annual Training - August 2019 Webinar


This 3-hour training is for CACFP sponsor staff who have not yet completed their annual training requirements or for sponsor staff who were not able to attend in-person training in April and May 2019. 

This training will cover CACFP meal pattern requirements, including grains crediting and combination food crediting. Annual Civil Rights training will be provided during this session as well. 

Attendees must attend the full 3 hour session in order to receive credit.

2019 ODE Culinary Trainings

The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs and the Oregon Dairy and Nutrition Council invite sponsors to join Chef Jessica Visinsky, RDN for “Oregon Cooks for Kids” a hands-on culinary training. This day-and-a-half culinary training will be offered regionally throughout Oregon.

Participants will practice knife skills, weights and measures, fruit preparation and practice culinary techniques to develop healthy Child Nutrition Program meals. We will spend three hours on the first day focusing on meal pattern, documentation, and crediting for Child Nutrition Programs. During the day two hands-on cooking portion of the workshop, participants will prepare and taste test 15 new recipes including many quantity recipes from OSU Extension’s Food Hero recipe website. On day two, please wear appropriate clothing for cooking; long pants and non-skid, close-toed shoes. The training is free, however, pre-registration is required. 

Registration is limited to 20 participants per training and only two people per sponsor. To participate in the training, click on the training location you would like to attend. The class will be filled with the first 20 registrations received. 
  

CACFP Meal Pattern Success Webinars FY 2019

The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) is presenting a series of webinars on the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meal pattern. These half-hours supplemental webinars will offer a variety of trainings related to the meal pattern. Twelve different trainings will be available for a range of sponsor types and knowledge-levels. 
  • All webinars are 30 minutes total with time for question and answers at the end.
  • Webinars will be presented through GoToWebinar. 
  • Webinars will be marked for “Beginner,” or “Advanced” CACFP learners. All CACFP sponsor staff are welcome to sign up for any webinars. 
  • Some webinars will only be relevant to a particular sponsor type. This will be noted in the description section under the title.
  • Participants who stay for the entire session will receive a certificate of attendance for half an hour of continuing education units
