Below is a list of Oregon Department of Education, Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) trainings available for you to train staff 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This training page includes trainings for both center based sponsors as well as Family Day Care Home Sponsors.

CACFP Meal Pattern Success Webinars FY 2020

Looking for some training opportunities this summer? The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs (ODE CNP) has developed four Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Meal Pattern Webinars.  These topics were chosen based on Sponsor requests and will cover information to help you master different areas of the CACFP meal pattern.  All webinars are free and open to the public.

  • Each webinar is 1-hour long with time for questions and answers
  • Webinars will be presented through GoToWebinar
  • All CACFP Sponsor Staff are welcome to sign-up – Participants who stay for the entire session will receive a certificate of attendance for 1-hour of continuing education credit 
  • Each participant must register individually and attend the webinar with their unique registration link to receive a certificate

Infant Meals: Registration Link

Learn about the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) infant meal pattern.  This lesson will cover the science behind infant feeding, the crediting requirements for CACFP, and the resources that are available.


Cultural Foods: Registration Link

In today's diverse society, culturally sensitive menus are more important than ever.  In this lesson, we will explore common creditable foods that are popular in many cultures and learn how to use it in a creditable CACFP meal. 

 

Creditable and Whole Grain-Rich Grains: Registration Link

Tues, August 11, 2020    2:00 – 3:00 PDT

Confused about grains? Learn which grains are creditable for the Child and Adult Care Food Program.  This lesson will cover creditable and non-creditable grains and items that can be considered whole grain-rich. This interactive training will show real examples and easy ways to figure out if you are serving creditable and whole grain-rich grains. 

 

Serving Ounce Equivalents for Grains: Registration Link

Tues, August 25, 2020    2:00 – 3:00 PDT

Ounce equivalent portion sizing will be required for the grains component starting on October 1, 2021.  Get a head start on understanding ounce equivalents and how this may affect your Child and Adult Care Food Program.  This lesson will cover the basics of crediting ounce equivalents in the grains component.
